My Current Location
With a GPS connected to a mobile ham radio, transmitting on the
Automatic Position Reporting System frequency, you can broadcast
your current position as you drive. A series of digital
ham radio repeaters and an internet gateways collect position
reporting data from the mobile ham radio. Through a web
site developed by Steve Dimse, you can
follow me on a map. I usually only transmit APRS data
during a trip so you may not see my position right now.
In a fairly new development I am using a cell phone to send
position data to Steve's website. This allows me to show
you a map and possibly a photo while traveling.
